Natalog FAQsQuestions pertaining to the software:
Questions pertaining to subscriptions:
How do I run the software? You click the Run Natalog button on Natalog's homepage. See the detailed instructions for more information. After you run Natalog the first time, shortcuts will be created on your computer. To run Natalog subsequent times, you may use these shortcuts or use the Run Natalog button on the homepage.
Do I need to be connected to the Internet to run the software?Yes and no. The first time you use Natalog, you must be connected to the Internet to download the software and to verify your username and password. For subsequent uses of Natalog, you do not have to be online. This allows you to run Natalog on your laptop during a swim meet, for example, even if the pool deck has no Internet connectivity. Note that to change your account information and to receive software updates, you must be online. Furthermore, when your subscription year ends, Natalog needs the Internet to check your subscription renewal.
Where is Natalog's swimming data stored? The meet results and top times that you load into Natalog are stored locally on your computer. This allows you to run Natalog without being connected to the Internet. The location of the file containing your swimming data appears at the bottom of Natalog's sign-in page.
What file formats can Natalog load?Natalog can import swim meet results stored as SDIF (.sd3), commlink (.cl2), or zipped versions (.zip) of SDIF or commlink files. SDIF is the standard format used by USA Swimming. Commlink is a format similar to SDIF that is used by Hy-Tek swimming software.
Where do I get SDIF or commlink swim meet results? Many swim meets, swim teams, and conferences post meet results online as downloadable SDIF or commlink files. The download may also be described as an import for Hy-Tek Team Manager. If the swim meet results are not available in the correct format online, swimmers and parents may be able to get the SDIF or commlink file from their swim coach, who can export meet result files from the team's meet management software.
Do I need to keep the SDIF or commlink meet results file once I've loaded it into Natalog? No. Once meet results are loaded into Natalog, the original files are no longer needed.

Can I use the software on multiple computers?Yes, the subscriber may use Natalog on any number of computers. The location of the Natalog file appears at the bottom of Natalog's sign-in page.
Is the software available on CD?No. Natalog is only available via download.
How do I get an updated version of the software? If you are connected to the Internet, you are using the most current version of Natalog.
How do I uninstall the software? To uninstall Natalog, follow the normal uninstall procedure for your computer. For example, on a computer running Windows, you would click Start, Control Panel, and Add or Remove Programs. Then you would select Natalog and click Remove.
